The Women’s March galvanized millions around the world to rise up and speak out. Mainers will celebrate the one-year anniversary on Jan 20 at\u00a0<\/strong>events in Augusta<\/a><\/span>, Bangor<\/a><\/span>, Bar Harbor<\/a><\/span>, and Gouldsboro,<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and Brunswick<\/a><\/span> and on Jan 21 in Portland<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Kingfield.<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Can’t make one of these events? Host your own Women’s March House Party<\/a>\u00a0or participate in the online<\/span>\u00a0Disability March<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.89″ background_layout=”light”]<\/p>\n Groups across Maine are planning marches and events in Augusta, Bangor, Gouldsboro, and Bar Harbor to mark the one-year anniversary of the Women\u2019s March<\/a>, a movement that drew between 3.5 million and 5 million people in cities around the world to rally for women\u2019s rights. Reported to be the largest protest in U.S. history, the Women\u2019s March gave rise to thousands of progressive activist groups in Maine and around the country, five of which are organizing this year\u2019s anniversary events in Maine Jan. 20-21, 2018<\/strong>.\u00a0Join one near you, and follow along at\u00a0#WomensMarchME2018! Host your own Women’s March House Party<\/a>\u00a0or participate in the online Disability March.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Maine Women\u2019s March 2.0: Power to the Polls<\/b><\/a>, organized by March Forth Maine, begins at 11 am at the Maine State House in Augusta.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Mid & Northern Maine Women\u2019s March<\/b><\/a>, organized by the Maine Common Good Coalition, also begins at 11 am at Pierce Memorial Park in Bangor. <\/span><\/p>\n Indivisible MDI will hold <\/span>Power to the Polls<\/b><\/a> at noon at the Village Green in Bar Harbor.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to co-sponsoring the Augusta march, Brunswick Area Indivisible will hold an event at 11 am at the Brunswick Gazebo on the Mall<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n The <\/span>Gouldsboro Women\u2019s March 2.0<\/b><\/a>, organized by Acadia Action, will begin at 4 pm in front of the Gouldsboro Town Office.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Women’s March on Kingfield<\/a><\/strong> begins at 2 pm at 256 Maine Street in Kingfield.<\/p>\n The Women’s March-Maine First Anniversary Celebration<\/strong><\/a>, organized by Women’s March on Washington-Maine and March Forth, will begin at 3 pm at Space Gallery in Portland.
